Magical Phones
Henshin (transformation) devices to turn a normal person into a Sentai Ranger have come in all sorts of shapes over the years, the most prominent being wrist-mounted devices and belt buckles. The use of a cellular phone as a henshin device came into use in 1997 with Denji Sentai Megaranger, where Yuusaku dialed on the Keitaizer to become MegaSilver. The next major use was 1999's HyakuJuu Sentai Gaoranger, but these phones rarely needed more than one button per use. The 2005 season, Mahou Sentai Magiranger, is the first time a cell phone's entire keypad has been put to use for both Ranger and civilian purposes.
The Magiphone is the Magirangers' most valuable tool. More than a simple communication device, it provides access to a wide number of magic spells, most of which come to the Magirangers when they perform some act of selfless courage. However, the use of the Phone itself varies greatly. The general rules are that the Phone must be used in civilian form, but it is not always necessary in Ranger form. The MagiStick, a rod weapon belonging to every Ranger, often takes the place of the Phone for casting spells which do not require dial codes. Several spells are also unique to certain Rangers based on their elements, their gender, and their magical specialty.

The MagiPhone functions as a regular cell phone when open, and the Magirangers have used them to communicate with each other and with other civilians. Whether they must type in entire phone numbers, or press a single button, has never been shown. The phone's magical properties emerge when the press of a side button converts it to Wand Mode, popping out the top section to make a third section with a glowing antenna.
MagiShine's Grip Phone is also shaped as a cell phone, but its spells are not cast by dialing numbers. Instead, different MagiTickets are punched using the hole puncher function and the spell is spoken to take effect (see MagiShine's spells for a list of cards). The strange theme emphasizes MagiShine's connection with his mecha, the train Travelion.
The UzaPhone, an evil version of the Magiphone which focuses Wolzard's spells, was created by Memmi. It is exactly the same shape as the Magiphone, except that it is coloured purple and features Wolzard's W symbol in place of the Magirangers' M.
Miyuki's Magiphone transformed into a silver version when she was awakened, and Isamu was blessed with a red UzaPhone following his reincarnation, to transform into Wolzard Fire.
